Before Fresh Eyes closes I will be hosting a hands-on workshop at the Redcliffe Art Gallery exploring how intentional design can turn simple, limited materials into compelling collages.
I came to making collages slowly, learning how to make image-based work through weekend workshops and online courses. As a self-educated maker, it was often difficult to know where to begin. I knew there was a fundamental gap in my knowledge and I didn’t even know what questions I needed to ask to find out what that was. When I learned about design as a concept, I began to see attention to process as a way of understanding and practicing intentional, meaningful art making.
This workshop is suited to people who are interested in slow, meditative making and learning about how to implement design in their work.
I do hope you will join me.
