This is first in the series made for Fresh Eyes 2025.
Fellow artists Rachel Bywaters, Zartisha Davis, Emily McGuire and I were asked to reimagine the rapidly changing landscape of the Moreton Bay Region, reflecting on the changes in landscape and community.
I have made twelve works for this exhibition, all of which are a continuation of my exploration of the idea of 'the gaze,' examining how the act of looking, shapes our personal and cultural perspectives, obscuring the effects of time and change on the environment in which we live.
I have spent the better part of the year, photographing my local landscape, testing and printing papers, experimenting with both analogue and digital collage.
What a great learning experience and an absolute privilege! I do hope the work will be both thought provoking and engaging for Gallery visitors.
