The Redcliffe Art Gallery’s goal is to create an archive that documents the rapid changes in the region through the eyes of local artists and I was lucky enough to be invited to participate. It’s been a year of discovery and while I started with a particular concept for Fresh Eyes that guided the making of the collages, as the work progressed so too did the ideas. There seems to be a trajectory of thought that keeps leading me down related paths, which I am still trying to untangle and articulate. The core concept though remains solid grounding for further reading, writing and making. I’ve also had an opportunity to talk it out with artLAB members, friends and family which is very helpful for the great un-tangling! There is a bit of a blurb about the exhibition in Preoccupations on my website, and since I was ill on the opening day event and wasn’t able to participate in the artist talk, I am percolating ideas to about how to share further.
