Hello and welcome! Social media and the internet are a fabulous, complicated things. I often wonder how we managed without it. And while I do love a good zoom session, I also have a nostalgic love of an old school telephone, writing letters and postcards, and talking with friends face to face. With the internet, the ease of technology and the speed of life took over and I joined facebook to keep track of family and friends, particularly when they were travelling or doing exciting things. Then I shifted to instagram to share my own creative journey. Now, however, my facebook page lies dormant, and I use instagram sparingly, mostly because mastering the art of a quick post still eludes me! My website, on the other hand, is turning into a lovely space to build an archive. It’s a portfolio and a place for random bits of info. As I begin to use it more frequently, I will be dropping even more random writings into my page of Preoccupations. All to do with art though. Most of what I write about in this newsletter will be on my website, sometimes with a bit more detail. This missive will be short form, providing a way to connect with you more directly than through social media. My goal is offer a quick and easy read, letting you know about what’s happening in my part of the world. All this to say, thanks for signing up! I hope to catch up with you either online and in real life whenever the stars align!
