Path Primer with Kellie O’Dempsey

At the end of 2024 I applied for the Path Primer with Dr. Kellie O’Dempsey, hosted by the Redcliffe Art Gallery. My application was successful and I’ve just completed five intensive days in the program—what a ride!

World Collage Day — Saturday 10th May

I’m thinking of doing something for World Collage Day this year. Maybe a collage workshop or even a drop in making day. Haven’t quite decided which way to go yet.

Filling up on exhibitions

Gallery visits are on the to do list! I’m keen to put some slow looking and learning into practice. It’s tricky because most of the day is lost when visiting Brisbane and surrounding regions, so the goal is to build a bit of brain and body resilience.

I did manage to see a great exhibition recently at Project Gallery, Queensland College of Art and Design by The New Quotidian Collective. Plastic waste and over consumption are a serious issue yet the trail of rubbish drifting off the dress train is a welcome touch of gentle humour. If you get the time it is worthwhile checking out the Collective’s socials and their website.

For the next few months…

I have the year planned out with key dates highlighted on the calendar. Along with visits to exhibitions, I will be doing a lot of making…all going well.
